It doesn't matter in what sort of containers you keep koi, you should love koi. The water of ponds and aquariums should be taken care of and kept clean. The water should hold sufficient oxygen.
When the temperature drops, koi don't eat a lot. Overfeeding will cause your koi poor digestion, so please be aware of the relation between the water temperature and the amount of feed. Koi usually hibernate in water below 7 degrees Celsius. You should feed them with plenty of food before hibernation and keep the water quality high during hibernation. Koi can die when the water temperature drops below 2 degrees Celsius. You should avoid overpopulating koi in your ponds and aquariums. Keep moderate number of koi and feed them with moderate amounts of food so that you can enjoy the beauty of them to the fullest. Your koi will become tame easily if you keep feeding them in the same spot. |
